2022 Worship Survey

Thanks to those who completed the Worship Survey.  The Session has spent time discussing the results and are using the information in current and future planning.  Take time to examine the answers and comments for yourself.  Of course, the Session welcomes any further thoughts or suggestions you might have.

Here are a few take-aways from the answers.

  • Nearly 42% of respondents would like to see more involvement of children in worship.  Beginning October 9, we will have children again serving as acolytes. We will also return the Moment for Children to our service.

  • The question on sermons and the comments indicated a desire for preaching that offered more life application.  Pastor Jeff will use this statistic in future sermon planning. Upcoming sermons will deal with topics such as LGBTQ and faith; and finding hope in a broken world.

  • The question on the use of different musical elements found that most people felt the balance was about right for all choices. Many of you wished that we would offer music from duets/small groups more often. In addition, more than 20% would like to see more guitars, soloists, and guest musicians. Our current service offers each of these elements at times.  We are investigating ways to increase their use in our service.

  • The question about musical genres again found that most respondents felt the frequency of each category was about right.  However, more than 20% wanted more Contemporary Christian music.

Thanks again for your input.  We will continue to endeavor to design a service that brings us through faith and spirit into the presence of God.
