Projects We Support
Roland Crisis Closet food pantry ministers to local families and individuals in need by providing food, clothing, and essential household items. Currently, just twelve churches support this mission project, most of them small and located near the food pantry. Roland Crisis Closet serves people in an area bounded on the north by the Arkansas River, on the south by Ferndale and Kanis roads, on the west by Highway 113, and on the east by Pinnacle Valley Road and Highway 10. Roland Crisis Closet is a mission project of "neighbors helping neighbors."
Presbyterian Village is a full-service, non-profit retirement community and nursing care facility located in west Little Rock. Their mission is to help their residents achieve and maintain an optimum level of helath and happiness. They strive to maximize independence, while providing a regimen of daily assistance to assure that residents mantain the highest degree of health and well-being.
Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home and Family Services is commited "to share Christ's healing love with children, youth and families in crisis." Established as a Presbyterian agency in 1923, Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home & Family Services is an agency of the Synod of the Sun, Presbyterian Church USA. Vera Lloyd has been caring for children and youth continuously since its inception.
P.A.R.K. (Positive Atmosphere Reaches Kids) is an innovative after school and summer program for at-risk youth. P.A.R.K. serves 250 middle and high school students within Pulaski County. P.A.R.K. offers the following to every member: a year-round weekly education program; a five-year commitment to each child; a community service component to mold productive citizens; an impressive recreational facility to entice the at-risk child into learning, studying and giving. P.A.R.K. serves middle and high school youth who appear to be at risk of dropping out of school and/or succumbing to the pressures of drugs, alcohol, sex and gangs.
Partners for Progress of Perry County provides assistance to the residents of Perry County, one of the most impoverished counties in the state. They serve an average of 10 people every day through the food pantry, senior adult food program, Samaritan Fund, Coats for Kids, school supplies and holiday food baskets. Vicki Gill, an Elder in our congregation, is the director of this ministry.
Special Offerings taken at Trinity during the year are used to support many diverse ministries. The One Great Hour of Sharing Offering supports the self-development of people, assists the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and provides for disaster relief around the world. The Pentecost Offering supports programs for youth and young adults, child advocacy ministries, and Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Children's Home. The Peacemaking Offering supports programs locally and globaly to encourage peace and wholeness. The Christmas Joy Offering supports retired church workers with special needs and also racial/ethnic schools and colleges.
